A NEW CHALLENGE FOR THE GROUP
With the “Fragolà” brand we have launched a new challenge: the production of “off-ground” strawberries in the high mountains behind Verona
The project is very ambitious,
the goal is to produce strawberries, through innovative techniques, in order to provide the market throughout the summer months, with a high quality product that satisfies the palate of the most demanding consumer.
The strawberry production unit is located in the municipality of Velo Veronese (Vr), in upper Lessinia, at 1150 meters above sea level on a total area of 4.5 hectares. It has been in operation since June 2012 and is equipped with a special greenhouse used for research and development, focused on testing the characteristics of new varieties of strawberry, systems for the recovery of rainwater and leachate, as well as anti-frost systems, to have the possibility of extending the production season and maintain a humid microclimate inside the production greenhouses.
The strategic geographical location, combined with the use of useful insects and natural prevention systems, allows us to limit the use of chemical treatments that are normally used in the cultivation of strawberries.

The cultivated varieties of strawberry to date are, Irma and Murano, chosen for their characteristic colour, shape, size and strong aroma. These varieties allow us to rediscover the characteristics of “old strawberries”, the aroma and that strawberry fragrance that are now today so difficult to find.
